Since its inception, Fun Girl Dance Company has been a powerful force in the contemporary dance scene, bringing bold, innovative, and queer-centric dance to audiences across the region. Foundation & Artistic Vision

• Founded in 2018, Fun Girl Dance Company is a professional queer contemporary dance company that seeks to amplify diverse voices and create space for boundary-pushing dance work that challenges norms and celebrates individuality.

• With a focus on contemporary movement and queer representation, we have developed a unique voice in the dance world, emphasizing creativity, inclusivity, and social change.

Completed Seasons & Productions

• 6 Completed Seasons: Over the past six seasons, we have successfully produced innovative works that engage audiences and provide a platform for both established and emerging queer artists. Each season is a testament to our commitment to pushing artistic boundaries.

• 5 Dance Films: We have also expanded our artistic reach with the creation of five thought-provoking dance films, which allow us to experiment with new media and share our work with a broader, global audience.

Ypsi Dance Swap & Community Engagement

• Founder of the Ypsi Dance Swap: In addition to our performances, we are proud to have launched Ypsi Dance Swap, a local dance festival that provides a platform for other companies and choreographers to showcase their work. This festival has become a key event for dancers, creators, and audiences in the region, fostering collaboration and celebrating diverse voices in the dance community.

• Building Community: Through Ypsi Dance Swap and other community initiatives, we have been able to bring together dancers, artists, and supporters to share experiences, build networks, and create lasting relationships within the arts community.

Professional Development & Impact

• Over the years, we have had the privilege of employing 25 dancers, providing professional opportunities to a diverse group of talented artists. This speaks to our commitment to supporting and nurturing the careers of dancers, many of whom are emerging artists in the queer and contemporary dance fields.

• Our company has cultivated an environment where dancers can thrive, explore their artistry, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our work.

Seventh Season and Beyond
